CARE program

Communities Assisting Residential Elders (CARE)

A program designed to improve the safety and independence of older adult homeowners. CARE provides non-complicated home maintenance coordination and assistance, through the use of supervised volunteers. Participants may receive service at least six times, with tasks such as yard maintenance; kitchen clean-up; home organization; window cleaning; closet cleaning; minor repairs; seasonal home organization and technology assistance. Membership in the CARE program includes a home safety evaluation. Sliding scale memberships are available. CARE is coordinated through a collaborative effort of representatives from Community Partnership on Aging and the Cities of Solon, Cleveland Heights and Maple Heights. Funding is provided by the Senior Center Innovation Grant awarded by the Cuyahoga County Division of Senior and Adult Services through the Health & Human Services Levy.
