Music Therapy

MUSIC THERAPY (Ages Infant - Senior Adult)
SCA is excited to continue a collaboration with its sister community music school, The Music Settlement. Drawing upon their expertise and 49 years of history in the field of Music Therapy, they will be sending a Board Certified Music Therapist to SCA Studios to create music experiences for individuals of all ages with special needs and/or medical issues. Both individual and group sessions are available.

Music therapy sessions are built around the strengths and interests of each client. For young children, a tailored program can include singing, movement, songwriting, dramatization, improvisation, listening, and instrument playing. For school-aged children, engaging music therapy sessions are custom-designed to provide support and practice for goals such as task-orientation, communication, and behavioral control in school, at home or in the community. Adapted instruction is offered on piano, guitar, drums, and other instruments.
