The Public Works Department is working toward providing important information to the residents as quickly as possible. For that reason we have established a hot line dedicated to this effort. Residents can now call 440-337-1390 to hear daily updates on any new activity associated with this project. Additionally, we are requesting your email addresses for the purpose of establishing an “e-blast” system similar to what we are utilizing on our Pettibone Road Project. This will allow us to communicate pertinent information immediately via the internet.

Recently the City of Solon rescinded the temporary 20 MPH speed limit in both the Pettibone Road and Bainbridge Road Construction Zones back to 35 MPH. The City Administration is taking the necessary steps, as required, with the Ohio Department of Transportation in attempting to have these limits reduced upon commencement of construction activity this spring. We will communicate the results of this effort as they become available.

A preconstruction meeting was held on Thursday February 25, 2010, between the contractor and the Cuyahoga County Engineer's office. It is anticipated that construction in Phase I (SOM to Liberty) will start prior to April 1, 2010, although an exact date has yet to be determined.
There will be a resident's meeting for the start of the Phase I construction. The meeting will be held on March 15, 2010 at 6 p.m. at Solon City Hall. Representatives from the County Engineer's office and the contractor will be in attendance.
Residents that live in the neighborhoods adjoining the Bainbridge Road project will be receiving a pamphlet regarding the Bainbridge Road project. The pamphlet is tentatively scheduled to be sent out on Thursday, March 11, 2010.
Residents in Phase I of Bainbridge Road (SOM Center to Liberty Road) affected by the installation of the two-way road should have received notice via certified mail of the City's restoration program. Those residents that have received notice and are interested in participating will need to return the completed application form to the City by no later than May 1st, 2010 to be eligible for the program.

The speed limit on Bainbridge Road has been re-established at 35 mph.
Construction is scheduled to start approximately April 1st, 2010. Utility relocation work will be ongoing, until then, with the majority of the relocation work in Phase I (SOM to Liberty) expected to be completed by the end of February. There may be a possibility that construction in Phase I could start sooner than April 1, 2010 if the utility relocation work is completed and the contractor is willing to start earlier than April 1, 2010.

Trees in the project area that may be subject to habit by the Indiana Bat have been marked for removal with a white "X" inside a pink circle. These trees will be removed by April 1st. These trees are located at 37360, 38335, 38500, 38600, 39500 and 39255 Bainbridge Road.

The speed limit on Bainbridge Road has been re-established at 35 mph.
Construction is scheduled to start approximately April 1st, 2010. Utility relocation work will be ongoing, until then, with the majority of the relocation work in Phase I (SOM to Liberty) expected to be completed by the end of February. There is relocation work scheduled for February 10th between 1:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. There may be a possibility that construction in Phase I could start sooner than April 1, 2010 if the utility relocation work is completed and the contractor is willing to start earlier than April 1, 2010.

The previously posted 20 mph speed limit signs have been removed and the original 35 mph speed limit signs have been reinstalled.

The gas relocation work in Phase I is complete. The utility pole relocation work is ongoing by the Illuminating Company. AT&T has started their relocation work. Intermediate residential service poles are being set in residents' front yards, specifically on the south side of Bainbridge Road. Subsequent relocation work will be performed by Time Warner Cable.
Bids for the project were received by the County on December 9th. The apparent low bidder was DiGioia Suburban Excavating. Their bid was $11,983,998.67. The Cuyahoga County Engineer's estimate was $15,806,216.08.

AT&T has started their relocation work. Residents may be seeing intermediate residential service poles being set in their front yards, specifically on the south side of Bainbridge Road. Subsequent relocation work will be performed by Time Warner Cable.
Bids for the project were received by the County on December 9th and are currently being evaluated.

Subsequent relocation work will be performed by Ameritech and Time Warner Cable. The County Engineer's office has placed the project out for public sale. The sale date will be December 9th.

We are continuing to meet with residents regarding Bainbridge Road landscaping and private property tree relocation issues. The gas relocation work in Phase I is ongoing. They are currently working on connecting individual home gas services. The utility pole relocation work is also ongoing. The County Engineer's office has placed the project out for public sale. The sale date will be December 9th.

The City is continuing to move existing tree lawn trees. We are continuing to meet with residents regarding Bainbridge Road landscaping and private property tree relocation issues.
The gas relocation work in Phase I is ongoing and the utility pole relocation work, scheduled to start November 1, is underway. The County Engineer's office has placed the project out for public sale. The sale date will be December 9th.

The City is continuing to move existing tree lawn trees. We are continuing to meet with residents regarding Bainbridge Road landscaping and private property tree relocation issues.
The gas relocation work in Phase I is underway. The tree removal work that needs to be performed for the relocation of the utility poles will start Monday, October 19, 2009. Residents were previously notified of this by the County and the City of Solon. The trees, 14 in total, have been marked with an "X" for removal and are "Indiana Bat" trees and those in conflict with the pole relocations. Utility poles for the relocation of utilities, anticipated to start November 1, 2009, may be delivered to various locations throughout the project.

The relocation of some of the City’s tree lawn trees began this week. Trees that could be potentially moved were marked with ribbon to provide location for OUPS (Ohio Utilities Protection Service) to mark utilities. Those with minimal conflicts will be relocated. Some have been moved to Portage Park while others will be moved to Grantwood. Those with utility conflicts will be taken down during the clearing process.
Representatives from the County Engineer’s Office and CEI were out on Thursday, October 1st to mark all “Indiana Bat” trees and those in conflict with pole relocation. These trees were marked with a white X at the following Bainbridge Road addresses, and will be removed in the next couple of weeks: 34495, 34750, 34830, 35140, 35750, 36000, and 36120.
A stump will remain to be removed when the road construction activity begins. All other trees will be removed as part of the project contract next spring.
Dominion East Ohio will be starting their work on replacing the main gas line as well as service lines on October 6th. This will involve boring in areas and digging at each property to provide for the new connections. Residents should experience little if any disruption in service and will be notified by Dominion prior to the work occurring. First Energy is scheduled to begin their work on November 1st.
