Patrol Division
This division is responsible for:
  • Accident investigations and traffic law enforcement
  • Apprehension of criminal suspects
  • Delivery of miscellaneous services to the community
  • Preservation of the peace
  • Protection of life and property
  • Prevention of delinquency
  • Repression of crime
  • Traffic direction and control
The Patrol Division consists of 46 officers who cover the 20 square miles of the city on a 24-hour basis. Patrol Division personnel are prepared to respond to both emergency and non-emergency calls for service in each of the city's 5 patrol beats.

Evidence / Property
Once officers submit evidence and property, it is logged and secured in the evidence room. When you are contacted to pick up your property, you may pick it up at the Solon Police Department, Monday through Friday, 8 am to 4 pm. Proof of ownership and identification is required.

Auxiliary
By ordinance, the Auxiliary Police Unit consists of 1 captain, 2 sergeants, and as many as 24 auxiliary patrolmen.The Auxiliary Police Unit was established within the Police Department to be called to duty in periods of emergency or whenever needed to protect the health and safety of the residents. The Auxiliary Unit works in conjunction with the regular Police Department, but cannot be used in place of the regular Police Department.
