The ceremony will be put on by the city, the Solon Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Post 1863 and the Solon American Veterans (Amvets) Post 11.

Due to the SOM Center Road and Aurora Road Intersection Improvement Project, this year’s ceremony will take place at Roselawn Cemetery, which is located at 32725 Solon Road.

Participating organizations in this year’s ceremony include Solon VFW Post 1863, Amvets Post 11, Solon City Council, Solon Police Department, Solon Fire Department, Solon Service Department, Solon High School’s Marching Band, Boy Scouts, Cub Scouts, Girl Scouts and Brownies.

“This year’s Memorial Day Ceremony is gearing up to be a wonderful celebration of the men and women who have served in the U.S. Armed Forces from our community and the rest of the nation,” said Mayor Ed Kraus. “We would like to thank everyone involved—especially Mark Mauldin and the Solon High School Marching Band, the Boy Scouts and Cub Scouts, and the Girl Scouts and Brownies for making this event so special.”
