Perram Electric, the City’s current traffic signal repair contractor, installed a temporary traffic control cabinet to make the intersection operational. The intersection is currently operating in a “recall” mode because the temporary traffic control cabinet is not capable of handling all the equipment needed for the video detection and much of the equipment was damaged as a result of the accident. The “recall” mode provides a predetermined amount of time to each phase of the intersection operation, whether a demand for the phase is detected or not.
Installation of a permanent cabinet will happen mid-December due to the time required to order and receive a new cabinet.
