SOLON, OH (October 22, 2019) – The City of Solon is partnering with the Solon Chamber of Commerce to host a job fair on Friday, Nov. 15, from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. The event will be at the Solon Recreation Center, located at 35000 Portz Parkway.
“We are hearing from local businesses that they would like our support in the areas of workforce development and recruiting talent, and on the flip side, we are hearing from people who want to find gainful employment. This is the perfect opportunity for us to bring both sides together,” said Angee Shaker, the City of Solon’s director of business development. “This is a benefit to the community as a whole, and we are very happy to be partnering with the Chamber of Commerce for such a worthwhile event.”
The event is free for both businesses and job seekers. Companies that attend will have the opportunity to conduct on-site interviews with potential candidates who are looking for work in the Solon area. Job seekers and businesses are asked to register on the Chamber of Commerce website at www.solonchamber.com by Friday, Nov. 1. “Space is limited and filling up fast.”
“Our mission is to serve as advocates for the business community by supporting and fostering vibrant economic growth, and hosting a job fair is the perfect way for us to do just that,” said Thomas Bennett, president of the Solon Chamber of Commerce. “We have a tremendous business community here in Solon and this event will help showcase the participating companies. We are expecting a good turnout and are hopeful that it will result in a number of long-lasting placements.”
