[ARCHIVED] Solon Fire-Rescue Training

training

Solon Fire- Rescue has begun intense scenario based, hands-on training over the past several weeks. The fire department has been given the opportunity by Nestle to utilize four of their buildings, on Bainbridge Road, soon to be demolished.

Our training officers have come up with several training evolutions to better prepare for actual structure fires. Training includes search and rescue, hose line advancement, pump operations, firefighter rescue, ventilation, along with many more.

Instructors also utilized a newly purchased smoke machine, using theatrical smoke, which obscures vision, helping to make training more life-like.

Solon Fire Rescue is grateful to Nestle for this opportunity, our training officers for their creativity, and our firefighters for their enthusiasm to participate in these sometimes difficult drills.
