1. When should I call the Police Department?

In an Emergency situation call 9-1-1. Calls of non-emergency nature should be directed to 440-248-1234.

Calls regarding community activities or non-police related questions should be made to the appropriate department or to City Hall at 440-248-1155.

2. How do I get a copy of a police report?

The Records section of the police department is open Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. You can visit the Records is located in the Police Department at 33000 Solon Road or contact Records by calling 440-349-3699. The availability and costs of the police report is available upon request. Records Section

3. What should I do if I go on vacation?

The House Watch Program provides special attention to be placed on your home or business during your leave of absence. It is the responsibility of the home or business owner to contact the Solon Police Department at 440-248-1234 if the House Watch or Special Attention is to be extended or terminated early.

House Watches will not be granted based on the following:
·No one day House Watches.
·No House Watch if residence will be occupied by anyone.

House Watch Forms can be picked up at the Solon Police Department or they can be obtained from our website, filled out and mailed to Solon Police Department.

If you are unable to come into the station, a request can be taken over the phone. Please note a signature is required on all request forms.

4. What are on street parking requirements?

On street parking is not permitted on any street in Solon between the hours of 2:00 a.m. to 6:00 a.m. Exceptions may be made for emergencies, driveway construction, out-of-town guests, or situations similar in nature. The police department must be contacted in advanced if such permission is to be granted. Any parked vehicles must be in compliance with any posted parking regulations.

5. How do I get in touch with the Animal Warden?

The Animal Control Department responds to all domestic and wild life complaints in the City of Solon. Found animals are brought to the Animal Warden's Kennel, located at the Police Department and held until ownership can be established. Owners are charged an impoundment fee of $20 to release their pets from the Animal Warden's Kennel at 33000 Solon Road. You can leave a message on the the police department non-emergency line 440-337-1451. Keep in mind that the Animal Warden is not always immediately available. Animal Control
